John was born November 10, 1938 in Flora, the son of Bernard Charles “Chief” Dunnigan and Mary Ellen (Thompson) Dunnigan. He married Caroline J. “Connie” Perrine on February 14, 1957 in Flora. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1993.
John worked for Sparton Manufacturing as a technician for 37 years. He and Connie enjoyed vacationing and riding his Goldwing motorcycle. Planting a garden was everything to John and he took great pride in his yard. He was a #1 Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood western movies, and had fond memories of Ford Town USA. John’s favorite family occasions were spending the holidays with grand kids.
He is survived by his daughter: Karen (Mark) Donoho; a son: Kevin Dunnigan; two brothers: Richard (Barbara) Dunnigan and Bernard (Catherine) Dunnigan; two sisters-in-law: Arlene Dunnigan and Mary Lou Wright; five grandchildren: Jonathan Bullard, Jennifer Bullard (Roger) Collins, Travis Humphrey, Jedidiah Dunnigan, and Geoffrey Dunnigan; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers: Charles and Leo Dunnigan.
A funeral service for John was held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
Interment will be in Floral Garden of Memories Cemetery, Flora.
