Anna Marie Knopp was born May 27, 1922 at Gackle, ND to Fred and Regina (Aichele) Knopp. Anna's mother died when she was 5 months old. Anna was raised by Sam and Bertha Enslen at Fredonia, ND.


Anna married Victor Billigmeier November 8, 1942. They lived on a farm north of Fredonia until 1950 when they moved to Kulm. Victor died in 1981. Anna married Earl Grosz on December 17, 1992. Earl died in 2003. Anna was a lifelong member of the Congregational Church and was the organist for many years.


Anna died Friday, March 25, 2016 at Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley, ND. She was 93 years old.


Anna is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Holmgren; her son Harris Billigmeier; granddaughters, Ronda McFarkand, Lisa Kirkland, Dawn Barr, Jessica Boden, Jeri Fossum, Meredith Kelley; grandson, Scott Holmgren; five great-grandchildren: Mallory, Heather, Anna, Matthew and Emily; four great-great grandchildren: Sean, Christian, Isaac and Adalie.
