Mary Varina Rutherford was the only d/o Medford Montgomery Rutherford and Jennie Cook Rutherford. She was born 22 Nov 1907.

She died 10 Jul 1980 in Batesville, Independence Co., AR and is buried with her brothers in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Independence Co., AR. She is the Grand-daughter of Senator James Rutherford.

Mary Rutherford

Miss Mary Rutherford of 110 Crestview Drive died Thursday morning in a local hospital. Born at Rutherford, she was a retired teacher. She has taught budiness education in Batesville and Newark schools. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two brothers, Medford C. Rutherford and Blythe Rutherford, both of Batesville.

Funeral services began at 9:30 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Frank Brooks offiiaiting. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery with arrangements by the Crouch Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jow Waldrip Jr., Dr. R. E. Bell, James Rutherford III, W. S. Kendall, and Dr. Edward N. Mosley and Carter Jeffrey Jr.
