He was a 1938 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, attended Dickinson College and graduated from Penn State University in 1951 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, serving in The European, African, and South Pacific Theaters.
Early in his life he was employed by the New York Central Railroad and Piper Aircraft. He later became a Civil Engineer and was a self-employed surveyor.
He was a member of the Jersey Shore American Legion and enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid Penn State Fan.
He married the former Edna Felix on December 2, 1949, and she survives.
Besides his wife of nearly 57 years, he is survived by five daughters, Ann Yohe Weber (Karl) of Mill Hall, Barbara Yohe Welch (Jim) of Jersey Shore, Catherine Yohe Dietrick (Larry) of Dillsburg, Lydia Yohe at home, and Edna Yohe Schooley of Williamsport; one son, Thomas Keller Yohe (Ruth Ann) of Shiremanstown; one half-brother, James Anderson of Jersey Shore; 13 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Michael; a brother, Phillip Yohe; and two sisters, Betty Schultz and Helen Westbrook.
Tom's ‘‘Life Celebration'' will begin with a visitation Friday, August 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, a ‘‘Life Celebration Home,'' 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, followed by funeral services on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Jersey Shore Veterans Council.
His family suggests contributions be made to either the Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131 Fairfax, VA 22038-1131 or the North Central Chapter American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
