He was born Aug. 20, 1921, to William F. and Lena (Rosbaugh) Williams of Kaiser Hollow, Montoursville.
Ray served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII arriving in the European campaign at D-Day + 4. He was later assigned to the army of occupation. He owned and operated Ray's Garage in South Williamsport for 20 years and retired from Bethlehem Steel where he had been a mechanic for 30 years. He also farmed and enjoyed cooking, hunting and his grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Margaret (Dewan) Williams. He is survived by one sister, Effie Robinson of Trout Run; three children, Patricia Straka of Williamsport, Raymond Jr. of Mill Hall and David of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Montoursville. Military rites will be accorded by the Korean War Veterans.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, Aug. 8, between 6 and 8 p.m.
