He was a graduate of Barnesville High School and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music; veteran of World War II and the Korean War; served as military advisor, ROTC, at Oklahoma University, Norman, OK; member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, where he served as choir director.
He will be missed by his wife, Evelyn; sons, Michael and Patrick; two grandchildren; sisters, Jean, Martha, and Mary; several nieces and nephews.
