John C. Abell
John Clarence Abell, 79, of 2017 Marland St., died at 5:15 a.m. Monday at Dirksen Nursing Home.
He was born in Divernon the son of Robert and Ludie Thomas Abell. Prior to his retirement 15 years ago, he was assistant manager of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau Seed Department. Mr. Abell was a member of St. Joseph's Church and Holy Name Society of the church.
Surviving are his wife Maymbe Sheedy Abell; three daughters, Mrs. James (Kathryn) O'Brien of Decatur; Miss Geneva Abell, at home; Mrs. Carl (Thelma) Goebel of Harvel; 13 grandchildren; nigh great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Gene Lahr of Decatur.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church with Rev Edward S. Gorman, CVS, officiating. Burial will be in Maurice Cemetery at Morrisonville.
Fishburn Funeral home at Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
