David served in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Homeland Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong member of Sunny Home Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. David was a church training director of the Winston County Baptist Association. During his ministry he pastored at Old Trinity Baptist Church. He attended Center Community School and Haleyville High School. David worked with Hayes Aircraft as an airplane mechanic before returning to Haleyville, Alabama, where he then worked for many years at Frontier Homes. He was a member of the Pebble Community Center. David devoted most of his life to Gods service.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 12-2 pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Sunny Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Elaine Alexander; parents, John William and Emma Alexander; 3 half brothers, and 3 half sisters.
