He resided in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 16, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Manager and also as Single, without dependents.

George was "Killed In Action" in a mid-air collision with B-17G #43-37941 over France during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
