Forrest Duffield was the Son of Sam Duffield and Jessie Howard. He had an older Brother Howard and a younger Sister Grace. Born in Minnisota, moved to Montana to Homestead land for farming in 1910 and settled near Baker. Moved to Washington and worked in a saw mill where he lost part of a finger. In 1920 moved back to Baker and bought the farm owned by his Grandfather, John L Howard. Spent 1942-43 in the Army during WW2. He started a small museum on the homestead site of his parents. A member of the American Legion Post 35 and a member of the O'Fallon Historical Society. He died in Fallon Memorial Hospital in Baker. The land for Fertile Prarie Cemetery was donated by Sam and Jessie Duffield from their Homestead land.
