June E. Reames Lake Station June E. Reames, age 78, of Lake Station, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004, at Methodist Hospital, Southlake. June was a Lake Station resident for 43 years and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Hobart. She was active at church in choir, former music director and the Womens Mission Organization June enjoyed singing, crocheting, gardening, spending time with family, sewing, watching football and cooking for her family. She is survived by four children: C.R. (Lynn) Reames of Brownsburg, IN, Vicki (Pat) Witka, Rochelle Duffee and Sandra (Scott) Cherry, all of Portage; 11 grandchildren: Alison, Randy and Lindsey Reames, Julie (Scott) Anderson, Tiffany (Larry) Blake; Dusti (Jason) Trusty, Destri Duffee; Scott Jr., Ryan, Christian and Nathaniel Cherry; three great-grandchildren: Patrick Blake, Aric Trusty and Aidan, Trusty, sister, Carol (Bill) Haycraft of Peoria, IL; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Randy Reames and mother, Janet Horne (nee Izatt). Funeral services will be Saturday, January 31, 2004, 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2825 E. Cleveland Ave., Hobart,with Pastor Gordon Small officiating. Mrs. Reames will be taken to church Saturday Morning at 9 a.m. Memorials are preferred to Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana.Visitation is Friday, January 30th from 2 to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home,Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue,Portage, 219-762-3013.
