ABBOTT, Henry VanDerVere, age 68, passed away suddenly at his residence Fri Nov 28. He was the beloved husband of Alice; father of Ronald and wife Arlyne Abbott of Bellingham, Dan Abbott of Arlington, Virginia, Richard and wife Margie Abbott of Bellingham, William and wife Marilyn Abbott of Ferndale, James and wife Diann Abbott of Sandpoint, Idaho, Shirley and husband Jim Ableman of Bellingham; 13 grandchildren. He was a life-time resident of the community; retired at the age of 63 from Imperial Construction in Bellingham in 1980.
He and his wife spent the last 3 years traveling in Arizona extensively. At the families request no visitation. Graveside services will be Tues Dec 2, at 11 am at Ten Mile Cemetery with Paul Elvig officiating. The family suggest memorials to the Lynden Volunteer Fire Dept. Services are under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home.
