Post Mortem is Held for Soldier

Following a post mortem examination held by Coroner Adams yesterday to determine the cause of the death of Joseph G. Dimond, 30, returned soldier who was found early Friday morning, the verdict was that death was due indirectly to German gas which the deceased received when he was in service overseas. The contributing cause of his death was an attack of acute indigestion. The young man had been in poor health since his return home and was unable to breath easily owing to his lungs being badly affected by the poison gas.
Requiem mass for Joseph G. Dimond, returned Lima soldier who was found dead Friday morning will be celebrated at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning at St. Rose Catholic Church. Interment will be made in Gethsemani Cemetery. The young man died from the effects of being gassed while overseas with the 7th division. The remains are at the home of his sister, Mrs. Maurice Hare, 651 North Baxter Street.
