Lady Ann Foster, 74, a resident of Route 3, Belington, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Ann was born April 27, 1934, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Charles Allen "Al" and Mandaine "Lady" (Olson) Bryne.
Ann was united in marriage Sept. 11, 1960 to Hobart Foster Jr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2003.
Surviving are one son, Jerry L. and wife, Coty B. Foster, of Route 2, Boothsville; and two brothers, Robert "Bob" Allen Bryne and Lars Olson Bryne of Philippi.
Ann was preceded in death by one nephew, Jeffrey "Jeff" Bryne.
Ann retired from Barbour County Schools as a teacher's aide. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 41. Ann was an avid painter and enjoyed playing music; for several years, she served as organist for the Belington Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Tygart Valley Dorcas Rebekah Lodge 181 and the Belington Federated Women's Club. Ann was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church where she served as choir director and was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Ladies Auxiliary.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St. in Philippi where the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 41 will conduct memorial services at 7 p.m. and Tygart Valley Rebekah Lodge 181 will conduct memorial services at 7:15 p.m. Visitation will resume Sunday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. to noon, at which time she will be moved to the Asbury United Methodist Church to lie in state from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the service hour, with the Rev. Arden Beck and the Rev. Robert Baer Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home services. From 2 Aug 2008.
