SPRINGFIELD - William Franklin "Billy" Dougherty III, 33, passed away at St. John's Hospital, on Thursday, October 15, 2015.
Billy was born on November 19, 1981, the son of William Franklin Dougherty, Jr., and Kimberly Woolsy Linne. Billy worked for Linne Tree Service.
Outside of work he loved to watch football, he was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
Billy is survived by his parents, William (Cathy) Dougherty, Jr., and Kimberly (Craig) Linne; his children, Damein, Jasmin, and William Franklin Dougherty IV; his brothers, Jacob Bennet, David Dougherty, and KC Palmer; his grandma, Barbara Dougherty, as well as several, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Dougherty, Sr., and Eugene and Janice Woolsey.
Funeral services are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home Petersburg, 122 W. Douglas Ave., Petersburg, IL, 62675.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service, officiated by Rev. Clint Cook, at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tallula, Ill.
