Lyle Cagwin

DELEVAN - Lyle W. Cagwin, 93 of Card Road, died Monday (Oct. 5, 2015) at the Pines of Machias.

Born July 10, 1922, in Delevan, he was a son of CJ Cagwin and Ethel Grace Whitney Cagwin. On Oct. 19, 1951, he married Maxine Sweet Cagwin, in Franklinville. She died Jan. 20, 2007.

Lyle was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a prisoner of war, and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the Elton Baptist Church.

He was an electrician and supervisor at Koike Aronson in Arcade. Prior to that he was a logger and a farmer.

Surviving are children: Debra Cagwin of Arcade; Vicki (Rod) Flasch of Simpsonville, S.C.; Bradley Cagwin of Columbia, SC; and Kathleen (Keith) Williams of Wellsboro, Pa.; a sister, Velma Cagwin of Delevan; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Ward and Mead Cagwin; and a sister, Mavis Wilson.

Burial will be in Delevan Cemetery.
