Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater, Baptist Minister of Archer City, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Elaine was born May 27, 1946 in Archer City to the late Milburn Ferguson Goforth and Nell Lorine Jinkins Goforth.
She graduated from Archer City High School.
Elaine and Wayland “Red” Abshier were married June 6, 1964 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2006.
Elaine was employed by Archer City Independent School District from August 1987 until May 2013 when she retired. She was a special education aide where she was known as “Ms. A”.
Survivors include Christie Mooney and husband, Michael T. of Archer City and Trish Bryant and husband, Wade of Henrietta; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann and Jan Goforth; one brother, Scottie Mac Goforth on August 17, 1992.
