Timothy Jack McCoy was a teenager passing through Chicago, around the age of 17-18. He had been visiting an aunt in Michigan and was heading back home to Glenwood, Iowa, via bus transit.
Originally an unidentified victim, he was identified in the late 80's, but previously interred under an anonymous gravestone in Chicago, Illinois. His remains were returned to Iowa, where he lived with his aunt and uncle, but was buried in Nebraska because he was from there originally. Identification was made through dental records from a dentist in Florida, where majority of Timothy's family lived. A belt buckle with a "Model T-Ford" on it also helped with identification.
According to a cousin, they were like brothers and both worked at Blue Star Foods Inc. at Council Bluffs. Both worked 12 hour days and when Timothy didn't return, the FBI and police were notified.
"We thought he had amnesia and just vanished. Some thought he might have been murdered, but nobody really knew."
Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Jack McCoy.
