At one time, he belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 9, as a heavy equipment operator.
Paul was a man of many talents. In his later years, he designed and built bird houses. He was quite talented designing and building whatever suited him.
Paul loved fishing, spending many hours with his friend Jerry Fresquez at Gross Reservoir, gardening, and cooking.
Paul had many plans to travel to the Southwest with his girlfriend, Romina. He was a quick-witted jokester with a dry sense of humor. Most of all, Paul loved to spend time with his grandchildren. They were the joy of his life. His loving, generous and kind hearted spirit will truly be missed.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Ted R. Houston.
Survivors are his mother, Neva of Brighton, sister, Debra of Thornton; three children, Tracey of Lochbuie, Paul Gregory of Brighton, Robert of Colorado Springs, as well as his four cherished grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, located at 75 S. 13th St, Brighton, CO. A reception followed the service at St. Augustine's Church in the Parish Life Center, 675 Egbert, Brighton, Co from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm.
