Eddy was the youngest son and youngest child of 17, of the late Carise and Georgianna (Pelletier) Cyr.

Eddy was cremated Monday Sept. 28, 2015 and was buried next to his mother Georgianna (Pelletier) Cyr on Friday Oct. 2, 2015. Buried in a grave reserved for his sister, Jacqueline Marie (Cyr) Wiesner, next to her husband Richard J. Wiesner.

Edmund Joseph Cyr, 72, of New Hartford, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015. Born in Van Buren, ME to the late Carise and Georgianna (Pelletier) Cyr, he served his country proudly with the US Army during the Vietnam War and has been a resident of New Hartford, CT for the last 8 years. In 1969 he was united in marriage to Doreen Remmie for 9 years Edmund worked as a construction foreman for Partician Inc. and enjoyed dancing, old country music and classic/western movies, but his true passion was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Rebecca Hart of Gilbert, MN and Tisha (Brian) Royer of New Hartford, CT; his brothers Raymond (Dot) Cyr of Bristol, CT, Claude (Roberta) Cyr of Springfield, MA; his sisters Jackie Wiesner, Lauretta Cyr and his sister-in-law Mona Cyr of Windsor Locks, CT; six grandchildren, Kayla, ShiAnn, Ruth, Tyler Destiny and Cassie; four great grandchildren;James, Rylee, Reece and Reighn and many cherished nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by six brothers and four sisters. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 PM Friday, Oct. 2nd at St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock Ave. Windsor. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

Eddy was predeceased by seven brothers; Aurele J. Cyr, Rosaire J. Cyr, Henry J. Cyr, Joseph Lazar Cyr, Conrad J. Cyr, Raymond J. Cyr and Lawrence J. Cyr; six sisters, Albertine (Betty)M. Cyr, Baby (unnamed) Cyr, Caroline M.(Cyr)Gebo, Baby Theresa Cyr, and Bernadette M. (Cyr) LaFlamme.

(Since his death, his brother Raymond J. Cyr passed away Oct. 28, 2016 and Claude J. Cyr passed away Nov. 14, 2017 and Loretta (Lauretta) Cyr Cianfarani Oct. 5, 2019.)
