Elizabeth Louise Herring, age 90, formerly of Tampa, died peacefully on May 25, 2015, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Betty was born on August 5, 1924, to William and Lillian Herring. She was the youngest of their three daughters. She was married to Frederick Liddle on June 20, 1948, and they had 63 wonderful years together. Betty and Fred shared a love of baseball, especially minor league. They took many baseball vacations, and after they retired they attended a game in every minor league ballpark in the Southeast. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Liddle in 1986; her beloved husband, Fred Liddle in 2011; and her sisters, Catherine Bonvillain and Marguerite Frost. Surviving are her daughter, Virginia (John) Parsons of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and two grand-daughters who were the lights of her life, Meghan Parsons of Winston-Salem and Kelly Parsons of St. Petersburg. A memorial Mass celebrating Betty's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 18, at Christ the King Catholic Church.
