Mrs. Marilyn Mapes Wilson, 76, of Winston-Salem died Sunday evening, Oct. 10, 2004, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Seattle, Wash., to Carl H. and Margaret Metzker Mapes. Mrs. Wilson graduated from Evanston High School and Grinell College in Iowa with a bachelor of science degree. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Donald Joseph Wilson; three daughters, Kathryn Panek and husband Lindsey, Susan M. Huffines and husband Jim, all of Lewisville, and Nancy Bernier and husband Danny of Madison; a son, Thomas M. Wilson and wife Faye of Lewisville; a brother, Carl R. Mapes of Clarence, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren, Ryan Lambert, Nicole Panek, Adam Wilson, Jill Clark, Nathan and Rachel Wilson, Courtney and Paul Huffines and Anna and Matthew Bernier. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, in St. Leo The Great Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Leo's Catholic Church Columbarium. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 1100-C S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
