Elizabeth O'Shea Homier, 88, died July 6, 2001, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Homier was born Nov. 8, 1912, in New York City, to the late Marcella and Patrick O'Shea. She attended Smith College in Northampton, Mass. Mrs. Homier served as a registered nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She retired from nursing to become a homemaker while volunteering for the Red Cross. She came out of retirement in 1968 and was instrumental in opening the pediatric wing of the Langdale Memorial Hospital in Langdale, Ala. Mrs. Homier was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul A. Homier; two children, Margo H. Cox and her husband, Robert M. of Winston-Salem, and Paul A. Homier Jr. and his wife Catherine of Lutz, Fla.; five grandchildren, Robert and Stephanie Cox, Tony, Ryan and Kelly Homier. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. The family will receive friends, immediately after the service in the church activity center. Memorials may be made to Food for the Poor, 550 S.W. 12th Ave., Dept. 9662, Deerfield, FL 33442. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Chapel.
