John Paul McConnaughy, 24, passed away April 26, 2011 in Orlando, Florida. John was born September 26, 1986 in Orlando, FL. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2005, and through the school’s program was able to do his solo flight in a plane. John was a Christian Scientist. He enjoyed Civil War Reenactment and volunteered for several years with the Civil War 3th Maine. John was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve and volunteered without hesitation to serve his country. John served one tour in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. He has been employed as a 911 Dispatcher for the OCSO since 2006 and had just been accepted into the academy for the OCSO.
He is survived by his grandparents, Gary and Burma Rube of Orlando, FL; father, Sean Dorsey of Atlanta, GA; sibling, Mimsy Dorsey; aunt, Jayne Soleman of Philadelphia, PA; cousin, Margaret Soulstein of Vancover, BC and many many friends. John was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Zautis and was brought up by his loving and devoted grandparents.
