WINSTON-SALEM - Paul John Zohorsky, Jr. of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a brief illness. Born January 23, 1925 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Paul John and Pauline Zohorsky. Mr. Zohorsky graduated from Penn State University and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from Royal Insurance Company and was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters. Mr. Zohorsky is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Seli Zohorsky; his children, Anne Flaherty and husband, James of Northport, NY, Paul J. Zohorsky, III and wife, Claudia of Ellicott City, MD, Peter J. Zohorsky and wife, Stephanie of Chesapeake, VA, Julie Pinder and husband, Jonathan of Winston-Salem and Joan Betts and husband, Erin of Katy, TX. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with Father Brian Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at Salem Funeral Home at 2599 Reynolda Road. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, 144 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg, PA 15601 (www.scsh.org) or Marist Fathers, 4408 8th Street NE, Washington, DC 20017-2298 (www.societyofmaryusa.org).
