WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Lawrence Francis Insetta, 60, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, suffering from Pancreatic cancer at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born February 18, 1949 in New York City, NY to Anthony Lawrence and Grace Lo Cascio Insetta. Mr. Insetta was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He retired from the New York City Transit Authority and moved to NC to be with his family. He was a very loving and devoted father and husband and had a great sense of humor. He had a passion for cooking and entertaining. He was a classic old car enthusiast and a die-hard Yankees and Giants fan. In 1990, he was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Mary Gill-Insetta and his son, Preston Lawrence Insetta of Winston-Salem; his mother of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Denise Daly and Jeanmarie Barbieri and husband, Michael of Winston-Salem; and one nephew, Christopher Lawrence of Winston-Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church by the Rev. Brian Cook. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
