GASTON - Richard J. Bader, 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 20, 1941 in Marshfield, Wisconsin, the son of William and Muriel (Heinzen) Bader and later graduated from Gaston High School.
Richard was the owner of Bader Missionary and also was a sub-contractor for Wise Builders.
Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Elaine Bader; his children, Chris Leveque, Rick Bader (Heather), Billy Bader (wife, Kim), Heidi Bader, Lela Greathouse (husband , Michael), Linda Collins, Tonya Blackburn (husband, A.J.), and Cynthia Long (David Johnson); twenty-three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Tony Bader (wife, Vicki); two sisters, Muriel Smithson (husband, John) and Juanita Bunch (husband, Mike); his mother-in-law, Fern Rees; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Walker; a son-in-law, James Collins; fathers-in-law, Jack Rees and Lowell Harris; and his parents.
Services are 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 West Isanogel Road. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Mt. Pleasant mortuary.
