Born April 23, 1921 in Peoria to William Hector and Josephine (Crapo) Lewis, she married Maurice W. "Mike" Cannon on October 8, 1937 in Crown Point, Indiana. He died October 21, 1975 in Peoria. She later married John DeLisle on July 7, 1977 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are four sons, James W. (Dorothy) Cannon, Sr. and Patrick J. "Rick" (Rae) Cannon, both of Peoria Heights, Maurice W. "Mike" (Maryann) Cannon, Jr. of Peoria, and Danial T. Cannon of East Peoria; three daughters, G. Kay (Robert) Mutton and Victoria L. "Vicki" (Terry) Wilson, both of Creve Coeur, and Judith A. Bassett of Mesa, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, C. Peggy Rogers of Spring Bay; and former daughter-in-law, Maureen Goodin of Creve Coeur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, one infant son, four brothers, and five sisters.
A homemaker, Henrietta worked at Caterpillar, Inc. during World War II.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria and Ladies of Columbus, both in Peoria. She was a former member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Peoria and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, both in Peoria. She was a volunteer at the Neighborhood House in Peoria for many years.
Henrietta enjoyed crocheting and dancing in her earlier years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Father Luis Aponte-Merced, OFM will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
