Rosa Lee Hatfield of Delbarton, WV went to be with the Lord and Savior on July 23, 2011 at Williamson Memorial Hospital. She was born in Pax, WV on June 24, 1929, the daughter of Lane and Goldie Trent. After the untimely death of her father when she was only two years old, she was raised by her step-father, Dennis Toney, whom she loved dearly and always called “Daddy.” She was a longtime and faithful member of the Regional Church of God, and singing in the choir was one of her greatest joys. She was very fun-loving and adventurous; she enjoyed going to motorcycle rides with her sons, and even took a ride to celebrate her 80th birthday. She impressed the youngsters of the church with her roller skating skills and danced nearly every weekend at the Delbarton Opry House. One of her greatest regrets was never getting the opportunity to bungee-jump. She passed quieter hours by working jigsaw puzzles and crocheting. Many newborns were given a hand-made blanket from Rosa Lee, and her family treasures the afghans she crocheted for them. She enjoyed vacations at the beach and spent many hours walking along the shore. Those closest to Rosa Lee knew she worked hard and saved in order to help provide for her children and buy things for her home. In addition to her husband Robert Lee Hatfield, Rosa Lee leaves behind to cherish her memories 5 children, Teresa (Charlie) Dempsey, Juan (Rita) Hatfield, Cary Lee (Julie) Hatfield, Lisa (Tommy) Williams, and Robyn Hatfield. 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, her sister Joy Wolford of New Boston, MI and brothers and sisters of her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Zelda Sizemore, aunt, Ida Cline, grandson, Austin. Rosa Lee was very ill the last year of her life, and her family will always be grateful to her caretakers at Trinity Health Care. Special thanks to Dr. Beckett, Stacy Justice, PA, and the wonderful nurses and technicians at WMH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Regional Church of God.
