father of States Attorney Samuel A. Lewis, of Frederick, died at his home, near Foxville, last evening of paralysis. He has been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Lewis was a retired farmer and lumber dealer and was well know in this section, having been a lifelong resident of near Foxville. He was age 79 years, 7 months and 12 days.
He leaves a widow, who was Miss Catherine Toms, and two sons and one daughter; Samuel A. Lewis, of Frederick; Hooker Lewis, of Thurmont, and Mrs. Cora Ridenhour, of near Foxville. He is also survived by one brother, his twin, David Lewis, who is the last member of his family.
The funeral will take place on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, from Mt. Bethel Church, conducted by Rev. Creek, of Smithsburg. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining M. L. Creager, of Thurmont, is the undertaker in charge.
