Gregory Kim Maddock, 63, of Valdosta, died Monday, August 31, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Friday, September 4, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Coffee County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Maddock was born September 19, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Carl W. Maddock and Kathryn Miller Maddock. He earned his nursing degree while in Las Vegas, Nevada. He formerly worked as a Registered Nurse in Las Vegas as well as at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald. Mr. Maddock was currently the drafting instructor at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, Valdosta Campus. He loved to learn and enjoyed reading and studying new subjects.
He is survived by his two sisters: Carol Maddock Kaplan of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Colleen Maddock DeLee of Las Vegas, Nevada; a half-sister: Teri Eger of Jacksonville, Florida; a step-brother: Robert Vinson of Jacksonville, Florida; a niece whom he raised as a daughter, China Kaplan of Port St. Lucie, Florida as well as another niece and two nephews: Katie Lezotte, Craig Brown, and Kris DeLee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Vincent “Vince” Maddock.
