Nathan Louis Peck, age 10, was taken from us in a hiking accident in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York on Friday, July 28th.

He was a much beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend - a friend to everyone he met. Nathan was a Moore native and would have entered the 5th grade at Bryant Elementary School this fall. He was an avid learner with an amazing vocabulary, imagination, and memory. He was enthusiastic about all his activities, topping the list were Star Wars, dinosaurs, and soccer, and he was excited about sharing those passions with you at any and all times.

Nathan will be greatly missed and is survived by his mother, Christine Peck, father, John Peck, brothers, James 18, Davis 16, and Alexander 13, grandparents, Robert and Eleanor Peck of Ocala, Florida, grandmother Carolyn Miller, uncle Steve Peck of Atlanta, Georgia, aunt Anne Peck of Burlington Vermont, aunt Cheryl Grace, uncles Gary Shaw and Michael Shaw, and numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and loving friends. Countless friends, classmates, teachers, neighbors, soccer families and those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him will also miss Nathan. He was a true 'people-person' with a loving disposition and in his short time with us he taught us all to love more openly.

Visitation will be at Primrose Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 1st, from 4 pm - 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3rd, at 10 a.m. at Eagle Heights Church in South Oklahoma City followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nathan's name to the South Lakes Soccer Club, P.O. Box 890112, Oklahoma City, OK, 73189, a field improvement/memorial will be created in honor of Nathan's too brief time with us all. Or donations may be made to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History in honor of Nathan's love of dinosaurs, where it will fund educational programs for children. Send to Nathan Peck Memorial Donations, Attn: Development Office, 2401 Chautauqua Avenue, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK 73072-7029.
