Born Oct. 21, 1930, in Morgan County, Ala., a daughter of Jack and Mary Bowling Yancey, she married Earl O. Overstreet on Jan. 28, 1951, in Iuka, Miss. He died July 13, 1992, in Pekin. She later married Robert D. Williams on Dec. 29, 1994, in North Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Beverly (Jack) Bonnette, Tremont; Patricia (Steve) Haller, Pekin; and Kimberly (Dean) Stephan, Normal; two stepdaughters, Jane (Robert) Quarello, Pekin, and Mary (Gary) Helferich, Washington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five brothers; and three sisters.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Joan previously had worked at American Distilling Co.n;
She was member of the Pekin Hospital League and volunteered at the Nearly Nu Shop in Pekin. A member of the Tazewell County Home Extension, she was a master gardener and enjoyed hummingbirds
She was a member of First Missionary Church in North Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin.
