Floyd Autry Chasteen, 75, of Berea, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence following an illness. He was a Rockcastle County native born November 22, 1939, son of the late Eli and Pearl Gadd Chasteen, retired Ford Motor Company employee, and had been a resident of the Berea area the past 15 years following his retirement.
He was an active member of the Warren County Conservation Association and UAW # 863. He had served as Deputy Sheriff and Volunteer Fireman in Lebanon, Ohio before retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie Adams Chasteen; 2 daughters, Dana (Brad) Younkman, Deanna Sanders; 3 siblings, William (Phyllis) Chasteen, Steve (Janice) Chasteen; Ella Mauda Hasty; brother-in-law, Dallas McGuire; 6 grandchildren, Ruthie (Tyler House), Eli, Isaac, Daniel, Jennifer, Nina; 1 great-grandson, Greyson; and "The Zoo" (5 grand-dogs). He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 son, Floyd Douglas Chasteen; 3 siblings, Tony Chasteen, Sarah Ellen Chasteen, Reatha McGuire; sister-in-law, Jean; nephew, Kendall.
Funeral Service 2:00pm, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Reppert Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Chasteen Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Visitation 12:00 noon until service time. Pallbearers will be Rob McCollum, Isaac Sanders, Eli Sanders, Vince McGuire, Steve Whittemore, Jason Chasteen, Brad Younkman and Ruthie Sanders.
