Edith was born on June 26, 1937 in Apple Springs to the late Burbon and Velma Jones and passed away August 15, 2015 in Lufkin.
She worked as a Dispatcher at Trinity County Sheriff’s Office for numerous years until her retirement. She once was a member of Eastern Star Lodge 284 in Groveton. Edith was very active within her family’s lives. She loved to talk and visit with everyone. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Mrs. Raiford is survived by her two children, daughter, Pam Howell and husband Pat Howell, and son John Raiford and wife Kristen Raiford; two sisters, Mary Smith and Nina Powell; brother, Leslie Jones; grandchildren, Matt Howell, Mitch Howell, Tori Wars, Victoria Smith-Raiford, Dylan Raiford, Walter Raiford and Mason Raiford; great grandchildren, Lynsey Howell, Lezlea Howell, Matthew Howell and Jackson Wars and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Walter Jim Raiford.
