William Leroy Bowen was born February 19, 1907 in Muldrow, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. He was the 3rd of 6 children of Cain Harrison and Lydia Myrtle (Howard) Bowen. He lived in Muldrow until his late teens when his family moved to San Bernardino, California. He was married twice and was the father of 3 children. He died at the age of 56 in Marysville, California.
