Edith Pearl Burgett was born November 12, 1918 in Bristow, Creek County, Oklahoma. She was the 3rd of 8 children of Jess Albert & Susie (George) Burgett. Edith moved to California in 1941, where she met and married William Bowen, the father of her 2 oldest children. Edith & William divorced in 1946 and Edith later married David Griffith, with whom she had 3 children. During her lifetime, Edith lived in Oklahoma, California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. She spent her retirement years in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was a very talented landscape artist, never having taken an art lesson. She also loved cooking, gardening, embroidery, and making quilts. Her dogs and cats held a special place in her heart.
