Virgil P. Shirley Dies on Tuesday After Long Illness
V. P. Shirley passed away Tuesday morning at his home after an illness of several months. He had been in a low state of health for several years.
Virgil Porter Shirley was born at Barron County, Ky., and had been a resident of Honey Grove for many years. He was married to Miss Annie Hodges on November 29, 1929. He is survived by his wife, two daughters of a previous marriage, Mrs. C. L. Bird, Corpus Christi; and Mrs. Virgie Bradly, Alvarado; three sisters, Mrs. Emily James, Honey Grove; Mrs. I. D. Core, Hamlin; Mrs. Stella Stephens, Dallas; and a brother Henry Shirley, Smith Grove, Ky.
