Funeral services for James Ulrick "Ricky" Canterbury of Pineview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Cordele First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services.

Ricky, 57, passed away Thursday after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Evergreen, AL and was the son of the late Jesse Ray Canterbury and Sue Cox Canterbury.

Ricky was a farmer and a member of Cordele First United Methodist Church. Prior to farming he had been Transportation Director for the Crisp County and Lee County School Systems.

Ricky is survived by his son, Brandon Canterbury of Sandy Springs; two brothers and their wives, Elliott and Carol Canterbury of Cordele and Raymond and Debbie Canterbury of Ashburn; a sister, Kathy C. Barnes of Douglasville; a brother-in-law, William Cross of Unadilla; and several nieces and nephews.

He was recently preceded in death by a sister, Susan Cross of Unadilla. The family may be contacted at Ricky's residence at 183 Little Road, Pineview, GA 31071.
