To the glory of God and in memory of James Sanderson Clarke MA Vicar of this parish for 47 years 1864-1911 This tablet is erected by his parishioners to perpetuate the memory of the faithful work he did and as a token of their appreciation of his constant desire for their good. The church was largely restored through his initiative and the parish provided with adequate schools. He entered into rest on May 19 1911 in the 91st year of his age. Psalm 91.16
