Don retired from the Kohler Company in 2001 where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Earlier employment included Aluminum Refining, in Sheboygan Falls and Kool Aid Soda, in Sheboygan.
Don was a long time Scouter serving Elkhart Lake for many years as Cubmaster for the Cub Scout Pack and committeeman for the Boy Scout Troup. Don further served the BSA through various districts and council positions, receiving the Lakeshore District Award of Merit as well as the Bay Lakes Council Silver Beaver Award. Through the years Don enjoyed seeing his "little Cubs" growing in the organization and earning the highest Boy Scout Eagle Award. One former Cub even went on to become a Scout Executive.
When local township dumps closed, Don was devastated as he was an avid recycler of assorted items using them to enhance projects of all types. He dealt in unique junk through the years. His CB handle became "Junque Man". Don was a friend of Bill W. for over 20 years establishing the local Elkhart Lake group in 1987 which still meets at the Community United Church of Christ each Thursday.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Janice; three daughters, Debbie (Bobby) Thill of Sheboygan Falls, Linda (John) Theune of Sheboygan Falls, Mary Glaubig of Brillion, two sons; David Glaubig of Sheboygan, Donald Glaubig II and Special friend Cindy Schindler of Elkhart Lake, 8 grandchildren; Nicole (Patrick) Hindes, Jason (fiancé Kelly) Thill, Lisa Thill and special friend Aaron Howard, Eric Schuh, Kayla Theune, Kyle Theune, Ashley Scherer, Matthew Scherer, 2 great-grandchildren; Logan Hindes and Jordyn Howard, and aunt Delores McPhillips, two nephews; Bill (Rebecca) Brulla, Ken (Susan) Brulla, parents-in-law Henry (Ruth) Arpke, brother-in-law Bill (Joanne) Arpke, and a sister-in-law, Sue Ann (Glenn) Thiede. He also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
