BREIDFORD, John Arthur of 320 Clark Street, died February 22, 1982 at the age of 70. He was born in Ceamo, Manitoba April 7, 1911 and moved to Blaine in 1916 where he has lived ever since. He married Nina Freeman in 1933. He took over the Ford dealership in Blaine in 1934 and was in business there until 1975 when he moved the dealership to Ferndale. He retired in 1978.

One of his proudest accomplishments was the initiation of the Driver's Education Program in the Blaine School District for which he donated automobiles for 30 years. He will long be remembered for his fairness in business. He was Past President of the Lion's Club; member of the Ruth Chapter, No. 52, OES; the Kulshan Lodge, No. 186; the Ferndale Old Settler's Association; and Stafholt Board of Directors. He was a 53 year member of the Free Church Unitarian and it's chair.

He is survived by his wife Nina; a son, John in Palmer, Alaska; 2 daughters, Virginia and her husband Phil Claymore of Blaine; & Sharon and her husband Gene Luther of Squim; grandsons, John & Jim Horgdal of Bellingham; Chris Cruse of Longview; Mike Cruse & Brian Luther of Squim; granddaughters, Jean Renkert of Bellingham; Janet & Jeri Breidford of Blaine; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Elias & Leonard Breidford of Blaine; 5 sisters, Augusta Brack of Edmonds; Laura Finnson & Olive Gudmundson of Blaine; Julina Breidford of Seattle; Rosalind Bame of Bellingham; numerous nieces & nephews.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 24, at 2 p.m. at the Free Church Unitarian, Harrison & Cedar Streets, Blaine with the Rev. Jack Kent conducting the service. Memorials may be made to the church, Stafholt Nursing Home, or favorite charity. Arrangements by the Jerns-McKinney Funeral Home of Blaine.
