Police Officer William Don Craig was critically injured after being struck by a drunk driver on March 19, 1988 and succumbed to his injuries 3 months later. He was riding his motorcycle into start his shift when the accident occurred, the driver did not stop and proceeded to get into another accident shortly after.
He is survived by his wife and two children who were a regular presence at his bedside during his hospitalization, his entire hospitalization included a 24 hour a day police presence as well.
He was born in Key West, grew up in Tampa, then moved to Miami.
