Funeral services for Eddie Joseph Deshotel, Sr., will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Melancon Funeral Home in Bunkie. Burial will follow at Pythan Cemetery in Bunkie under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Melancon Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Deshotel, age 69, of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea and Verdie Mayeux Deshotel and a brother, Gerald Deshotel.
He is survived by one son, Eddie Joseph Deshotel,Jr. of Pineville; one daughter, Yolanda Deshotel of Dry Prong; four brothers, Eugene Deshotel of Bunkie, Ralph Deshotel of Hessmer, Charles Deshotel of Slidell, and Hosea Deshotel, Jr. of Belledeau; four sisters, Loraine Landry of Lafayette, Rosa Lee Gaspard of Cottonport, Diana Knoll of Slidell, and Connie Tate of Reno, Nevada; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
