Elias George Abourjilie born January 13,1894 in Barath,Syria to George and Katbah Badiam Abourjilie.Enlisted July 26,1917 in Norfolk,Medical Corps.Served at Camp McCallan,Ala,Fort Riley,Kansas,Camp Sherman,Ohio.4th Virginia Regiment& 40th Infantry,Company D.

Elias George Abourjilie, 61, husband of Mrs. Lois Abourjilie and son of the late Elias George and Mrs. Kahy Badrin Abourjilie, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 7:30 p.m. He was a native of Lebanon, and a resident of Norfolk for the past 50 years, residing at 324 Ward Avenue at the time of his death. He was a member of the First Baptist church and of Norfolk Lodge 39, Loyal Order of Moose, and the Moose Legionaire. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the 29th Division, United States Army.


Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons William N., Edward N. and Robert E. Abourjilie, all of Norfolk; two daughters, Misses Olga M. and Alice L. Abourjilie of Norfolk; one sister, Miss Alice Abourjilie, and one brother, Maeen Abourjilie, both of Lebanon.


The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments pending arrangements.

Services at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, this (Friday) afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
