GRAY - Doris H. Stokes, 92, formerly of Perry, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2006. Funeral Services will be held at 3P.M. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Perry with interment at Perry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Elder Gordon Buchanan, Rev. Tommy Freeman, and Dr. James Paul will officiate. A lifelong resident of Perry, Mrs. Stokes had lived in Gray for the past eleven years. She was a member of the Plentitude Baptist Church of Gray, the Adult Sunday School Class and the Plentitude Homemaker's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Fred Stokes. Mrs. Stokes was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. -Survivors include her children; Clara Malone (Marvin) of Gray, Jimmy Stokes (Jean) of Perry, and Ed Stokes (Sandy) of Perry; grandchildren, Eddie Malone (Paula), Angela Tribble (Emory), and Jim Malone (Angie), all of Gray, Wendy Bellacomo (Joe) of Albany, Jeff Stokes (Denna) of Atlanta, Matt Stokes (Vicki) of Alpharetta, Ginger Stokes of Warner Robins, Trena Fuller (Micky) of Byron, and Kelly Stevens (Charlie) of Perry; twelve great grandchildren.
