July 13, 2006:

Longtime Chandler resident Louise Acord, 81, departed this life on Sunday, July 9, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 22, 1925, in Chandler to Pete and Bertha (Fillman) Edmonson.

Louise graduated from Chandler High School in 1942.

On July 15, 1944, she married Leon Acord in Chandler.

She was co-owner of Acord Transportation in Chandler for many years.

Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport.

Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Leon Acord, of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Pat Acord, John and Jeanie Acord , Tom and Debbie Acord, Joe and Cindy Acord, all of Chandler; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bill Shelton of Chandler, Lou Ann and Jerry Sukovaty of Davenport; two brothers, Vern Edmonson, C.A. Edmonson, both of Sapulpa; two Sisters, Vila Belle Alexander of Chandler, Eileen Peterson of Oklahoma City; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Midlothian Mission Music, Rt. 3 Box 1534, Chandler, OK, 74834 or the Caring Hands Hospice, 313 N. 4th. Ave., Stroud, OK 74079.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Davenport with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
