Victoria – Thomas Leslie Sterne, Jr., M.D., 91, died on Monday, July 13, 2015. He was born July 20, 1923 to the late Thomas L. and Mary Sterne. He was a native Victorian. Tom graduated from Texas A&M college in 1945 after serving in the United States Navy. He attended Medical School at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Sterne was a board certified pediatrician and practiced in Victoria for 30 years, retiring in 1984.

Tom was instrumental in bringing state of the art pediatric care to Victoria hospitals, served as a consultant for the Devereux Foundation, the Bronson Home, the Hear Foundation, Child Study Clinic and numerous Head Start programs throughout the state. He also volunteered his medical services on several trips to Central and South America.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Gladys, and his wife, Frances.

According to his wishes, after cremation, a private service will be held at the family ranch in Mission Valley.
