MORTUARY RECORD
MR. AND MRS. L. F. VALENTINE
Word was received in Warren last evening that the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Valentine, victims of the Knickerbocker Theater collapse, will leave Washington this evening, arriving in Warren Wednesday morning on the flyer at 7:30 o’clock
In deference to the wishes of the family, the bodies will be taken directly to Oakland Cemetery for interment. The funeral will be in charge of the Knights Templars, and the Rev. Gomer B. Matthews, rector of Trinity Memorial Episcopal, will say a short prayer at the grave.
The funeral services will be simple, and it will be a great disappointment to the legion of friends of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine to learn that they will not be able to pay respects to their memory in any other way than meeting the bodies and participating in the procession to the cemetery and the services at the grave.
Louis F. Valentine was born in Warren 56 years ago and received his education in the public schools of this place. He was the son of Elial T. F. and Helen Valentine. His maternal ancestor was a daughter of Lothrop Parmlee, who was the first merchant of Warren, and deceased was a nephew of George N. Parmlee, the first president of the Warren National Bank.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Robert Selden, of Norristown, and Miss Belle Valentine, of Second avenue, this city, who at the time of the accident was at the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel, Philadelphia.
Deceased was a charter and also a life member of Warren Lodge, No. 223 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and was also affiliated with the various branches of the Masonic fraternity in Washington, DC.
Mrs. Valentine, who met death almost simultaneously with her husband, was formerly Miss Verna [sic] Kinnear, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kinnear. Her father was called in death many years ago and her mother died at the home of her daughter in Washington two years ago. The nearest surviving relatives are two aunts - - Mrs. Ada Buck, of Jamestown, N.Y., and Miss Ella Babcock of Water street, this city. Previous to her marriage Miss Kinnear and her mother resided on Conewango avenue, this city.
