A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Blackwell was a daughter of the late Lester and Eugenia Fitzgerald Singleton and widow of Jesse Blackwell. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a stepdaughter. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenell Smith, Toccoa, Terry Ann Carter, Royston, and Edna LeCroy, Carnesville; two sons, J.C. Blackwell, Demorest, and Bobby Joe Blackwell; a sister, Bonnie Saylors, Anderson, S.C.; a brother, Arville Singleton, Roanoke, Ala.; and 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, 22 step-great-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-great-grandchildren.
